Random memories 2

At the back of this picture of myself when I was younger, there is something written by pen: "Edinburgh Festival 1993". So, this is when it was taken.

Although I do really like this portrait, it reminds me of a bit of a turbulent story in my life. This was taken by a friend of mine from Spain with whom I lost contact a long time ago. And there's a reason for it...

In August 1993 I went to Edinburgh for a month, just for the festival. It just so happened that by the end of July I had met a guy with whom I seemed to get on really well, so I was not very keen on spending a full month away from him, but I went because this trip had already been organized and couldn't be changed. He was not happy either, but off I went! While I was there, the friend I mentioned earlier happened to be there too. She was the one who took this picture. Funnily enough, I had met her just a few months earlier, after spending six months in Edinburgh trying to improve my English!

Anyway... When I went back to Barcelona, I started going out with this guy I mentioned above. We were together for a couple of years, everything seemed ok but then... we split up because he fell in love with the girl who took this picture! It's a bit of a long story and I won't go into detail, but there you are... life!

I've kept this portrait because i do really like it!

It's been a long day today. I started at 8am, due to a 3 hour meeting we had in the morning, and I finished at 7.30pm. A long and slow day...
