Proper Day Out

I had a lovely time with five of my 'Forest School' friends today.  We cycled to The Donkey Field Orchard in Portobello, tied up our bikes here and carried on a delightful walk along the river to Newhailes National Trust House in Musselburgh.  We arrived back in the orchard for a late lunch with camp fire etc-see extra.  After this we cycled  back into Edinburgh.
The weather was super all the way, and it was nice enough for my son to have his first BBQ with friends in the back garden.  This was a lovely thing for them, as they have missed being able to do this sort of thing.
This was one of the views along the walking section, looking towards Brustane Farm House.
