Muscular Pong Potential

I went for a walk through neighbouring fields this afternoon, to try to work out some kinks from stiff muscles.  My back is a bit stiff, so I left behind the heavy camera, taking only the little Sony.  It isn't great for macro photography, but you don't need a lot of magnification for the beastie that I found sitting on an old branch.

Its body is easily 3.5cm long, without antennae, if not longer than that.  Some internet research this afternoon leads me to believe that this is a Musk Beetle - fortunately the limitations of the camera meant that I didn't get close enough to be perceived a threat and so I didn't find out the hard way :-)
