Chicory

Chicory is growing as a part of our green manure field, putting natural minerals into the soil combined with other plants.  The colour is so piercing, I did try to take a photo of the whole field but it didn't do the chicory any justice.

Extra:  Not sure whether these birds are crows or ravens but the one behind is a young one as it still has some baby fluff.  They were very large on the lawn!
