New camera on the way?
I've found my Raspberry Pi-based Naturewatch cameras quite useful for photographing birds, but one problem has been that with the camera mounted on a tripod and monitored remotely, I either capture a small shot of a bird wherever it lands on the feeder, or a larger image but only if the bird lands on a particular part of the feeder. This is made more of a problem by the fact that the camera uses a video aspect ratio - which does not really suit the feeder. What I need is the ability to remotely control where the camera is pointing. So I'm planning to try to build a pan and tilt system for the camera, operated using another Raspberry Pi. I'm waiting the the pan and tilt equipment to be delivered at the moment.
While I wait for the parts I need, I'm messing about with a Pi with a tiny keyboard and display (the glasses and SD card are in the photo for scale).
Well, it keeps me occupied!
