The Dovecote
Nice and bright and sunny today but a very cold wind, we had another trip along the coast to Penmon where we were heading the other day but got side tracked by the castle.
Just under a mile from Penmon point is the ruins of the priory and this magnificent dovecote which dates from around 1600 and housed a thousand birds, the walls inside the dome are covered with little roosting niches from the floor up to a hole in the roof where the birds would fly in and out.
