They Had The Gall

I let MrQ cut some of the area in the corner of our field where burdock and nettles grow but have kept plenty for wildlife. The burdock plants are towering above me now and will be manna for goldfinches when they go to seed. As usual the burdock gall flies have homed in on the buds.
