checking out the lace

When I was young, my. mom told me that the black spot in the middle of Queen Anne's Lace was a drop of blood from Anne's finger due to a needle prick while tatting the lace. So when I first saw this bee from afar, I thought, "Wow, what a big drop of blood." Childhood memories sure are funny!
