It's not all trekking

Fires are everywhere in Kathmandu. It's mostly rubbish, smouldering away giving off toxic fumes. People huddle round to try and get some warmth, especially at night.

This morning the Mrs saw a man picking up something from the gutter of the ring road, one of the more unpleasant places in Kathmandu, and stick it straight in his mouth. He didn't look very healthy, and I am not sure that would have helped.

It's still raining!
