Common Red Soldier Beetles - Rhagonycha fulva

Took a camera with macro lens on this evening's walk.  Lots of bees, a couple of butterflies, and these colourful characters, which I had to look up. The reference says "Often seen on umbelifer flowers, such as Hogweed and Cow Parsley."  Exactly - they were on cow parsley.
