The house of shame from another angle

Another shot of Pen-y-Fal taken on the walk this morning, as also blipped by Cathaber here. The institution buildings are on the left. The green cone tops a sitting area for patients. The houses to the right are new build dwellings.

Some of the walkers in the Abergavenny Walking for Health group used to work in Pen-y-Fal in its latter days as an institution. It was, I gather, quite progressive in some ways, growing its own vegetables, and with these outdoor shelters so that patients could benefit from the open air.
