Butterfly Pea vine ( Clitoria Ternatea) WFW20_16
Funny story about this little wildflower.
My kids know I love herbal teas. For Christmas, they gave me dried butterfly pea blossoms to make “ blue tea.” The color is amazing and it has medicinal Benefits.
I made some of this tea for my Colorado friend. When she asked “What is it?” Without thinking I said “Butterfly pea.”
She got really quiet and had the strangest look on her face... I realized her brain heard PEE not PEA! I concocted a story about how scientists follow butterflies around with little cups to collect it... Then I lost it. We had the biggest laugh! I did explain that it’s an herb. I think of her and laugh every time I see it.
It grows wild here but the vine is so fragile and blooms so sparse that it’s just easier to
Buy the tea. Be blessed!
