Just the one! One blip, one extraction

Called for coffee with Shona before they head for London to see 6 month old grandson who has only seen them on screen. I wonder about the effect all this will have on babies who only see parents.

I phoned dentist again and was told I was on the 4th page of A4 list to see. I was ‘economical with the truth’ - see I can learn something from this government - and got to speak to an actual dentist who decided I must go in this afternoon. I had to pay in advance by phone. (I hear in Scotland people can go for normal check ups now). She said it would get looked at but they wouldn’t do anything. I rang the outside bell as instructed, had to speed read instructions, get my hand sanitised and temperature taken and was let into the torture chamber.

The dentist looked like a teenager but was obviously very competent and experienced. She examined the offending place where the tooth had been and announced the tiny bit and root would have to be removed at once. There was nowhere to put a crown. xrays were taken, injections given and after a lot of poking and pulling she showed me the roots.

I was told to go home and have a little lie down, not to blow my nose or sneeze as the top back molar is near the sinuses, and if it bleeds too much bite on gauze for 20 minutes. Rinse with salt and take paracetamol for the next few days. Etc etc

These are the lovely sweet peas Mr C just picked but he’ll have to take to a neighbour in case they make me sneeze. (See above).

I’m feeling a bit wabbit.

#2 daughter and 7 year old Thomas cycled 26 miles today and had lunch outside the Slug and Lettice by the Millennium Bridge - he was determined to go. He’s now playing on the climbing frame and his mum is shattered!
