Together...

...the theme for MonoMonday, and thanks to 60Plus for hosting.
I went to South Shore Park this morning, thinking I'd look for geese or seagulls, but never expected to find two sets of baby ducks. This first group was on the ledge on the outside of the fence where the walkway is, & I've shot them through the fence, as I liked all the shadows. I've put a shot taken over the fence in the first extra, and if you look closely in that one, you'll see another little duckling's head just above the mama on the right. That little duckling was one of three more babies that were laying right in the middle of the walkway. At one point this little one got up and tried to go by the others on the ledge, but the mama chased it off, so it sat off to her side. I've put a shot of the three babies in the second extra, and you can see the water just beyond them. The walkway actually went another 12 or so feet beyond where the babies are, but in that massive storm surge we had last winter, that whole portion of the walkway was damaged and is now underwater. The third extra is the other set of baby ducks that were in the shade of a tree, just over the curb of the parking lot. Lots of cuteness & togetherness going on. :))
