I know

that bashing components with a hammer into small circuit boards is bit odd. But they do call this a hammerhead connector. It has the advantage of needing no soldering iron work. The clever little mounting jigs were out of stock, and I don't have the right sort of clamp anyway. A little upholstering hammer did the trick, with some piles of card as shock absorbers. 

Another step towards a working robot. But this week brings work to be done - a good excuse for more procrastination.
