YELLOW HAMMER ON THE CANAL.

Did not sleep very well, so got up at 5am and left for the canal at 5.30am, as you might guess I was the only walker, although on the way back I did meet a few joggers. Managed to see the swans, although it is hard to get a photo as the banks are so overgrown. They are in extras with, once more the poppies.  My main blip was a lovely little yellow hammer.sitting in a hawthorn tree.
It has been a beautiful day, so pottered about in the garden, and had chats with some friends and my family.
