Birds of a feather
It was possibly the coldest night I've felt last night so time to light the fire early and get the chill out of the air. It wasn't too long before a neighbour from over the road was knocking at the front door worried about the amount of smoke billowing from the chimney. Fortunately it was simply because the log I'd tossed on was a very heavy one, full of sap.
The day was glorious which is so often the case after a clear, cloudless night.
More birds at my feeding station, this time from a different angle which produced a lovely, soft background. The silvereyes continue to love the fruit whilst the greenfinches continue to argue about who was there first/whose feeder it is/which seeds are the best......it's a wonder they have any time to actually feed they're always squabbling.
Talked to T - she was looking very tired and found the effort of it all too much. We'll talk again later if she's up to it.
In COVID news, there's been one new case and no recoveries bringing our active case total to 25. Alarmingly, there's also been another 'breakout' from a managed isolation facility......four people have now been caught breaking out. Why?! Self-centredness at a time like this is unfathomable. I'm sure they're probably people who'd create a stink if they caught the virus out in the community after their release, but they don't seem to have joined the dots and figured that they have a major role to play in preventing community infection from actually happening.
