Miners

Miner bees holes at the base of the plum tree. I love bees, so much I called named Bea after them. We have a bumble bee nest in the garden and now I found these miner bee burrows in the ground which made me smile.

Forgot to set my alarm this morning for swimming so woke up at 6:35 and was supposed to be leaving the house at 6:45! Quick panic/rush to get ready and I was in the lake at 7. I had a nice swim but my head wasn't quite in the right space and was comparing myself to all the other swimmers who are fast and swimming front crawl (I'm very weak at crawl and so swim breast stroke). I know its not a race but that's how I felt this morning.

After swimming we visited Don who is my Nan's husband (we lost my Nan 3 and a half years ago and he lives alone now). He is doing OK and it was lovely to see him. He is very active and enjoys church choir and indoor bowls and he is really missing those hobbies which are still banned, for understandable reasons. He is also diabetic and in his mid 80's so he needs to be cautious.

Then this afternoon John's good friend Simon and Beth and Julie came for a socially distant veggie BBQ, we had a lovely time.

It was a bit of a busy day, especially when we are used to quiet lockdown days of doing nothing, but a really nice day none the less.
