Great Egret
It was such a beautiful day to take a long walk in the park. My granddaughter caught on quickly to help me spot birds. She pointed out ducks (she likes them a lot) Cardinals, Sea gulls, Egrets, and Ibis. Part of our walk usually includes the one mile boardwalk over on the wetlands of Boca Ceiga Bay. Typically in late afternoon we see lots of shorebirds, but not today. I was a bit disappointed as we turned back to leave the boardwalk, when Moira pointed very excitedly to the Great Egret perched on the rail. They are such an elegant bird from their plumes to their long neck.
