Educating Rita

Along with Dirty Dancing, this is my go to comfort-food-film. In fact it probably influenced me to do one of the things I’m proudest of in life which was to get a 1st Class Honours Degree in English Literature at the Open University as a ‘hobby’ whilst doing the most difficult job of my life and despite officially remaining a red-brick university Scientist on paper. One day I will channel Rita’s confidence and do something with my ‘other’ degree! Till then it’s good to binge watch favourite oldies and imagine a more positive future!
