Summer

This photo means summertime to me, because trips to the local aquatic gardens are part of my past few summers.  Since taking up photography, my spring/summer revolves around the blooming of the cherry trees, followed by roses, lotuses, sunflowers, and dahlias.  Of course there are also tulips, peonies, and coneflowers in the mix.  If they are visited by an interesting insect or bee, all the better.  There was something about this image that felt familiar, and I figured out what it is.  It reminds me of the colorful floral prints the designer Lilly Pulitzer uses in her clothing and products.  A bit bright for me to wear, but a gorgeous sight in the gardens.
