Heron
We had our first proper "Our Day Out" since lockdown today. Pre-Covid, Sophie used to have a sleepover with us on Thursday and, after we'd dropped her at school on Friday morning, we'd set off on a day out somewhere.
Now that things are more relaxed we decided to reinstate the Fiday day out, so headed to Sherborne Castle, built as a home for Sir Walter Raleigh. The castle itself is still closed but the gardens and lake are very impressive and we enjoyed a walk all round them and a picnic lunch.
There's a glimpse of the house across the lake in extras but we were lucky enough to get close up to this heron looking for lunch by the cascade on the edge of the lake and, as conditions were a bit overcast for landscapes, this had to be the main blip.
