Too much drama
Last night the RAC could not come out to Mike’s smoking van. They sent their local contact who turned out to be a young chap in a clean hoodie wielding a spanking clean spanner. He hadn’t a clue and wanted to drive the van away on his low loader but he couldn’t take S and M home as it wasn’t COVID safe. They’d have to get a taxi. So they refused his offer
We set off in convoy but at the first hill the van really struggled then just at the top of the hill the engine cut out completely and he had to coast down with emergency flashers going. Luckily there was a junction which he swung into. We stopped while he got in touch with the RAC again. Within an hour they sent a proper person with a proper toolkit and he was able to fix the leak and get them on the road again. We are all safely at our own homes now.
We are about to welcome #2 daughter and family. They are bringing a Thai takeaway and will all spend the night in the van. A few of our friends have had family in the house to stay but Mr C isn’t up for that. There’s 10 new cases in Northumberland this week up one from last week.
