Amsterdam is also great. We were staying in this boat hotel (a 100+ room boat hotel*) that was training up their staff before setting sail to provide accommodation for the Rio Olympics.

Amsterdam is so great. A lovely place for wandering, and drinking, (and accompanying Benny to a coffee shop where she smoked and I didn't), and soaking up photography and art exhibitions (FOAM gallery comes to mind).

We also found The Hoxton, Amsterdam branch where I, of course, had a great espresso martini.
