WHITE FACED HERON (ardea novaehollandiae)
The white faced heron self-introduced to New Zealand in the 1940's and has now become the the most predominant heron in the Country. One might say an 'Ozzie' who didnt need a passport. Seen feeding down the estuary wall this afternoon - when the sun was shining for the first time in a couple of week!!
