Not knowing....
We didn't make it to church. Bear was poorly and I was knackered. We did however manage to get ourselves together and walk round to Libby's for lunch. We nearly didn't: Bean was tired and horribly grumpy, and the thought of a grumpy Bean and a potentially grumpy Nat (he gets very grumpy when he's tired) was not a happy or enticing thought. But Bean promised to not be grumpy. So we went. And had a lovely afternoon! It's always a relief to know your kids are just as normal as other peoples' children :) Bean was still in testing mode when we ate, and neither of my two ate very much. Bear is poorly though and in milk monster mode, and Bean is just extremely picky.
But they played, and Libby and I talked, and it was really nice to have company and to get things off my chest. This quote was on her cupboard door. It has our (me and hubby's) initials on it too - to remind her when we were coming round, but still, funny how things turn out! A good prayer reminder, that. I need to pin it up at home too.
Eventually it got so late that the kids had some tea, and Libby drove us home as Bear had had a big long nap and was now awake enough to get into a carseat. Grateful for that. It was COLD.
Porridge as soon as we'd unpacked, bedtime not long after, and then I sat down and ordered a takeaway pizza to eat while watching one of the Africa programmes. Steve would be impressed. I never watch tv. I never of my own choosing sit and watch rv in the evening. So for me to have a pizza and tv evening was.... Well, I must have been tired!
Steve's home in the morning. Hopefully when I wake up he'll be there :) Must attempt to make room in the bed for him....
