Mortimer Sackler

Very exciting delivery arrived today. Mortimer Sackler, a David Austin climbing rose, that I planted in memory of my dad. Roses were his favourite flowers.
We chose Mortimer, because we liked the name and the size and hardy was seemed right.

Then we planted it by the pergola, where I hope the rose will climb over it and look lovely in years to come.
My dad would have approved, as we ended up needing to get out the big power drill to dig a large enough hole for Mortimer. There was a lot of rubble and old foundations just under the surface!
Fingers crossed for success and prolific flowering!
