A cautionary tale

I’d a fantastic cycle with a couple of pals today - that is until about 5 miles from home. My pal ( a much more experienced cyclist than me ) who was probably doing about 20mph came off his bike in wet conditions. He’d a very sore back and was very shaken. He couldn’t continue ( his carbon bike was also a bit bent) and has ended up at A and E.
I’m glad to report that nothing is broken but he’s having to use a stick and has his wrist in a splint, but at least he’s getting home.

On a more positive note I was impressed by the number of cyclists and motorists who stopped and offered assistance. He’d also have been a lot worse off if he hadn’t been wearing a helmet.
