Seconds out.....

This passage next to Berry Brothers & Rudd, the wine merchants, connects St James Street, London, with Pickering Place, site of some famous duels and said to be the last place a duel was fought in London. It's also the site of the former embassy of Texas and close to the house where Lord Byron and Lady Caroline Lamb "carried on" together, an affair that led her to describe him as "mad, bad and dangerous to know". The square's seclusion made it perfect for pastimes such as bear baiting, fist fights and gambling. I like the old painted panelling that lines each side of the passage. It's just across the road from a yacht brokerage where I'd been for a breakfast meeting.

I can't find much to like in corporate culture and one of the things I like least is the breakfast meeting. Breakfast is something that should be taken at home before going out. Still I had a pleasant hour afterwards at RORC (Royal Ocean Racing Club) before heading off to the station and home.
