Thorp Perrow
Finlay seemed a lot better this morning and so we attempted a walk...however after about 200 metres he just stopped. So I had to half carry him home...fortunately he has a harness with a handle on the top so I could take the weight off his legs. Not sure I would have been able to carry a 30kg dog a very far. He has an appointment at the vet tomorrow.
Mrs madwill and I went out for the day to Thorp Perrow near Bedale in North Yorkshire. A nice coffee and cake to begin the proceedings then lots of walking around all the wooded avenues. Back to the cafe for lunch (takeaway) service only...and a very agreeable sausage bap was had. Basically a whole Cumberland ring sausage in a huge bread roll! Mrs madwill couldn't manage a whole one - so I had to help out!
More walking about on the way to the bird of prey centre where I saw this wonderful bird..an eagle of some sort I think, as I stupidly forgot to look at the name! He does look superb in large
Then there was a flying display and I captured some in-flight shots..(extra one). We could see the house across the lake (extra two) and there were lots of carvings dotted around the woods, including a rather splendid woodpecker (extra three).
