Field Of Dreams

Wide Wednesday. Movie Titles! RockArea.

When I went for an early pre-heat walk I did not know what movie I would pick. I felt that I would just walk into it. And I had no favourites in mind to try and make work. There it was.

FoD came out in 1989, with Kevin Costner, Ray Liotta and James Earl Jones.
Quote by character Archie Graham: We just don't recognize life's most significant moments while they're happening. Back then I thought, "Well, there'll be other days". I didn't realize that that was the only day.

After the corn field I walked by the grape vineyard and could not resist an attempt at Grapes of  Wrath, 1940 with Henry Ford and John Carradine.
Quotes:
Ma Joad: Rich fellas come up an' they die, an' their kids ain't no good an' they die out. But we keep a'comin'. We're the people that live. They can't wipe us out; they can't lick us. We'll go on forever, Pa, 'cause we're the people.

Tom Joad: Wherever there's a fight so hungry people can eat, I'll be there.

To be realistic to the theme though, it shows how unemployment and social inequality make the American Dream unattainable. The basic idea of the American Dream is synonymous with the belief that all citizens should be free and have equal opportunity for success.

Grapes of wrath is an unjust or oppressive situation, action, or policy that may inflame desire for vengeance : an explosive condition. Will the grapes of wrath come to another harvest— Stuart Chase.
