A landmark you can see for miles

One of  a pair of Water towers in East Yorkshire, that I haven't come across in my many travels country wide, a lot of effort had gone into styling such an unlikely functional artifact

I can never understand why the Germans didn't destroy such an attractive target, or indeed the earlier twin at Rimswell
