Unfortunately after a couple of self satisfied sips my mobile phone rang, it was one of Eve's football coaches telling me that her knee had given in and that she hadn't recovered from Sunday's collision as well as she thought she had. So we bolted our drinks down and headed back to pick her up.

Once again, defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory.
