I had expected rain today, so was out early on in the garden.

It rained for about 10 minutes at lunchtime and then I was off on a walk, down across the ford on the Shawhead road. There is a lovely meadow there full of wildflowers, including orchids, but I ended up photographing this hogweed instead. I'm rather fond of their architectural style and I've read that they provide a huge amount of nectar for pollinators.

I made three jars of jam from the raspberries I picked yesterday and picked some more for our tea tonight. We ate them with some vegan gluten free brownies from a recipe which brambleblossom kindly sent me.
