A Dog's Dinner

By G

Only in Edinburgh

Just in from a whisky fuelled evening with my pal Mr Drylaw.

It was very quiet in Inspector Rebus's favourite watering hole, but we did meet this book club discussing their latest favourite.

We them schlepped along to Kay's Bar for a dram or six where we sat next to a bunch of guys who had just booked Oasis for a few gig's at £650K a night, guaranteed.
Good money if you can get it.

In between we discussed.

The relevance of the Communist party in 1950's Scotland.

Was Damon Albarn trying to recreate the Englishness of Waterloo Sunset in all his pre Chinese Opera work.

Did Oasis capture the zeitgeist of Cool Britianna.

A full and fulfilling evening
