Claim to fame

Had a walk around the Fairlawne estate to Shipbourne church this afternoon with Yvonne and Rob. The church is on the horizon.

There was a society wedding held here in June 1968 where in attendance were the Queen, the Queen mother, Princess Margaret , Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, and Noel Coward. The daughter of Peter Cazalet (the Queens racehorse trainer) was marrying.

The 1000 acre Fairlawne estate is currently owned by the Saudi horse breeder Prince Khalid Abdullah. I didn't see many horses.
