Flower of Scotland...

It was a mistake to look back at previous blips uploaded on this date as two years ago we had just arrived in Devon on holiday and in previous years, France.  

No such summer holiday this year.  Sigh.  Still,  D and I will hopefully get away to Northumberland for a week at the end of August and fingers crossed, the trip to Lancashire with us all and Alan's his pal Andrew will hopefully go ahead in September. Something to look forward to.

I am trying really hard to find something positive to say but having just read   the government announcement that employees are to be taxed if tested for corona virus by their employers, just after reading about Boris blaming care home bosses for the high rate of covid deaths in their care homes,, and my mood has gone from good to grump.  I'm not going to say anymore here as it would probably get me banned.   

David was playing golf with pal Keith.  First time he's seen him in months.  I spent the afternoon painting.  Nothing in particular, just trying out different techniques although I did make a birthday card and a small painting for my aunt's birthday later this month.  

Finished the thistle this morning.  I'm quite happy with the coloured background although next time I would tone down the yellow and the pink.
