Mistaken Identity

I thought this was a Common Gull (Larus Canus) in its winter guise but I think it is an Adult Herring Gull (Larus argentatus) judging by the hook & red spot on its beak.

Another miserable weather day in the "Blue Toon" and we just got the word that we will leave Thursday morning for the Foinavon field West of Shetlands... and I doubt there will be any respite from the weather up there.
