Along the Arnish Road

Cycled to the Arnish Fabrication Yard this afternoon. That's five miles by road, but with 700 feet of ascent on the way. At the top of the descent towards Arnish, you can see the hill with Charlie's Monument on top. This commemorates the passage of Bonny Prince Charlie here in 1746, after he lost the Battle of Culloden and was looking for a place to hide. The burghers of Stornoway said no, but neither did they betray him.
