Moon and Half Dome, Ansel Adams, 1960
This is a big print which hangs, framed on my wall. It was given to me by my late wife, Ruth. Even before then, it was one of my favourite photos. After my own visit to Yosemite National Park, I was disappointed with the pictures I got. Unlike Adams, I'm not a technical photographer, but what I have found out is that he used a Hasselblad camera with a two and a quarter by two and a quarter inch negative size, and a 250mm lens . The image for which he used an orange filter, is of sunlight on the cliffs, taken around 3:30 in the afternoon. Unfortunately there is some reflection off the glass, and you can see my hand!
