Familiar Faces in Strange Places

The great thing about London, is that you can go for a run and be red-faced and sweaty and have no chance of bumping into anyone you know...or so I thought!!

Had the absolutely wonderful surprise of bumping into Catherine and Chris, from my home church in Belfast today! Was so good to catch up with this couple. Both of them have such a way of listening to people, taking a genuine interest in them, and the time to know them.

Had a lovely phone call with my Granny and Granda. And a good chat with my Granda about birds, and what we can learn from them about the One who created them (inspired by a book he’d read by John Stott):

“Would that we had as strong a homing instinct spiritually as birds have physically! The more we come to recognize that God is the true home of the human spirit, and that we are waifs and strays without him, the more quickly and painfully will we become aware of even the smallest estrangement from him, and the more eagerly will we return to him. For when we come back, we have come home.”

Gratefuls:

- Seeing such a clear answer to prayer in Rebekah’s work! After praying together yesterday about a project with an upcoming deadline that she couldn’t see any progress on, things kept falling into place one after another today.
- Grandparents who love the Lord wholeheartedly, and pray for us Grandchildren every day.
- My brother and his sense of humour...he showed me a video of “a day in the life of Conor” he made and made me literally laugh out loud!
- My home church family, and getting to see some of them today!
- Catching up with my friend Femke from the Netherlands - seeing her hold onto God, knowing He is holding onto her.
