Inside Abingdon lock

It's been a mostly sunny yet cold day.

I haven't been to the lock for a while as the footpaths leading to it have been under water. Thought I'd check out the building work which, according to the friendly workman I spoke to, has been delayed by several weeks due to the recent flooding.

I last photographed it in mid December when the work has just started and it was full of strange floating bags of sand. They do look to have made progress since then but I know little about lock re-fits so not sure what else is involved before it reopens.

Do look in large to see the boat grounded on the bank of the Thames. Yet another casualty of the January floods.
