How an I doing Mum?

Looking out at the feeders this morning there was a family of Goldfinches ( Carduelis carduelis) 2 adults and three fledglings.   They clearly haven't yet fully developed their flying skills or to be more correct their landing skills.  This one in particular made a right hash of trying to settle on top of the feeder to be fed by they adult.  The blip is one of a number of shots as it fluttered about.

As it was a fine day we were back in the garden continuing with the ongoing cutting back to make space to plant a Holly hedge.   Clickychick took a load of clippings to the recycling centre.  Then I got a phone call "the car won't start".  I headed out there to try to sort things out.  By the time I got there the staff had very kindly tried to push start her, to no avail.  Perhaps they just wanted her off the premises :-))   Fortunately we were only a mile from the garage we use.  So they popped out to take it in and sort it out.  The garage owners words on arrival  "Volvos don't break down!"
