Branklyn Garden

We set off for Kinnoull Hill. On the way we noticed that the NTS Branklyn Garden car park was open, so we took a detour into the gardens. There were a lots of flowers to see and photograph, and even a few meconopsis left.

It was the first time Mrs P and I had done anything unplanned since the lockdown started, and for the first time in three months we were doing exactly what we would have chosen to do. It was unexpected and really nice!

I listened to Howard Goodall's Never to Forget this morning (Sunday) on Radio 3. It's a tribute to the UK health and care workers who have died of Covid-19 and features the names of the first 122 to die. Very moving.

Also a reminder, if one were needed, of the contribution made to all our lives by people who don't have historically English names. See https://youtu.be/sKeLR7gtzOs .
