The local Local

Independence Day, July 4th and according to some newspapers 'Super Saturday'.  From my observations of the reports on responsible media, local pubs, restaurants, etc are being very careful in their preparations as they reopen today for the first time in nearly four months.  Which is more than you can say for some newspapers, who publish their salacious headlines, seemingly egging people on to behave in a way that might contribute to the spread of the disease .  If true to form, those papers will be the first to vilify anyone who acts inappropriately.  

Our local has set out socially distanced seating in the car park and controls movements in the bar area.  While most will accept that there is additional risk in this relaxation of the rules, if done well, it will hopefully provide much needed opportunities to meet friends and relatives.  Time will tell.
