Happy 4th of July!

Well, I’m posting a photo I took a while ago, but I think it’s fitting for today’s American holiday.

This is an eagle named Uno, because she only has one eye. Uno was found emaciated in Sitka, Alaska in 1989. Her right eye had atrophied, leaving her unable to successfully hunt after fledging.

She was brought to the Raptor Trust, a bird rehabilitation facility, and is doing very well in captivity.
