Stop Laughing, This Is Serious

This pair of hapless painters advertised a paint shop on the highway at St Peters in the 1980s. The shop is long gone, but they’re still hanging on for dear life. Their predicament gives a nod to Stan Cross’s famous 1930s cartoon, For gorsake...stop laughing, this is serious, in which a labourer clings to his mate dangling from a skyscraper, pulling down his trousers in the process.
