About to turn

Double veggies tomorrow

...we had a detective show to finish watching; no time to steam the broccoli! I had tried a shot of a pretty hollyhock that I found blooming today, but it declined to get in focus. So popcorn shrimp it was for a blip today.

I spent much of today outdoors, zipping around on the tractor mower and tidying. D. brought me a nice cold Dr. Pepper, which tasted fabulous in the 94 degree heat. I. drove me to the wonderful Loudoun Mill to pick up some bags of mulch.

Talked with W. quite a bit, too. For him and his mom and dad, these are days of decisions, caregiving, adapting, quiet time together, and an occasional Sonic milkshake (W. goes to the drive-in to get his dad's favorite strawberry). Time is narrowing as everyone draws in around Harry - online, at a distance, or in person. We've decided that either W. will come home as planned on Monday and drive down again with the rest of us in a week, or the kids and I will rent a car and drive down sooner. Harry, who's older than Ellie by 18 years but was the youngest by far in his own family, has a plethora of nieces and nephews with whom he stays in close contact. This week he sent them all an email. He told them that they've each been a blessing to him all his life, from the moment they were born.
