Family

Watching this young Osprey family in action today gave me a whole new appreciation for how difficult it is for all families to raise their young.  The mother was clearly agitated in the nest as her two little ones were hungry.  She tried appeasing one with little tidbits that she found in the nest.  Continually she called out to her mate - I am guessing to make him aware how urgently he needed to return with food?  In the first extra, you can see how the mother and babies were upset. The male did a fly by and she screeched at him a bit.....so off he went to fish (the female and one chick watched as he flew away).  When he returned, I felt so badly for all of them as the fish was so tiny...hardly a meal for the two chicks; certainly not anything for the parents.  The male immediately took off to go fishing some more. To top it all off, it was 35C feeling like 40C.  Ouch!
