Back To The Botanics

For the first time since Lockdown began and having booked our ticket in advance, today was our visit to the newly-opened Botanics. The poor, drizzly weather presented many photographic opportunities for raindrops-on-roses, beading on everything from grass heads to cedar cones.

I have chosen the main photo of of this unusual bloom, which I have never noticed it before, as, despite four different labels adjacent, none gave the name and I shall have to look it up. Perhaps there are Blippers who can enlighten me.

The extra shows the wonderfully architectural Dierama robustum, which has arching stems of pink bells emerging from foliage resembling pampas grass, in the rock garden, and the meadow flowers in the informal patches of the garden.
